Linda 19th December 2020

Well, what a year we've had. Just one month after our 50th wedding anniversay, the whole country was plunged into lockdown because of a worldwide pandemic that to date has killed well over 1.6 million people, over 60,000 of them in this country. There's no pubs, clubs, shops etc open. We've only been allowed out to buy food. We have to wear face masks in the shops. There's not a lot of cash about now, only plastic cards. It's a very strange, scary world Phil and Pearl and I agree that you and Brian would not have coped very well with the situation. I still see Mary and Pearl every so often. The garden kept me busy and sane during the really hot summer but since the weather changed it has been very difficult. There have been times when I have wanted to come and find you but that would be too, too selfish. I am doing my best to help take care of your mum during these difficult times. She is so strong. This is definitely going to be a very lonely Christmas as we are not allowed to mix with family or friends. Mind you I am sneaking Pearl in on Boxing Day for a sleep over and a few bottles of wine. Love and miss you for ever Phil xxxxxx
